Recently While Downloading Asphalt game on my Smartphone I got an Error 498 in Google Play Store. To be Exact, the Error Reads “Error 498 has occurred while communicating with the server“.

I Tried again but the Same Error Again. After Few Tweaks i was finally able to download and Install  Asphalt on my Phone.

Because i Faced this error in Google Play store, i though there will be many other people facing the same error and so this Guide on how to Fix Error 498 in Gooogle Play store.

Here on this Page i will be sharing few Methods that will help you to get rid of it. Though any one listed Method will not work for Everyone to Get rid of Google Play Error 498 because there are different reasons that are responsible to cause this error.

CAUSES OF ERROR 498 IN PLAY STORE :-

There are Few things that causes this Error on your Smartphone while you try to download any app from Google Play store.

• The Most common issue is the Size of Device’s Cache Partition. You will get Error 498 in play store if you try to download apps that are larger in size then your Device’s Cache partition.

For Eg: Your Cache partition is of 30M and you try to download an app with Size 35M then you might get this error. Usually Play store have issues when downloading apps that are large in size.

• Another Reason is Google Servers from where you are trying to download the apps might be under maintenance. So if you are downloading an App and you get Play store erro 498 message then Server may be the issue. Just wait and try to download it again.

So these were just Couple of Possible Reasons for a User to get this Error in Google Play store, Now let us see Some Possible Ways to Fix it.

5 WAYS TO FIX GOOGLE PLAY STORE ERROR 498 :-

METHOD 1: CLEARING CACHE

Most Common Reason you might be facing this Error  is because of Cache, so i will start the Methods list by Recommending you to Clearing the Cache.

To do So, Just navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select Google Play store > Clear Data & Clear Cache.

Now Try and download the App if Cache was the problem and clearing it solved the Issue for you.  One more reason of listing this method on top is this worked for me and i was able to download the game easily after clearing the Cache. Though the Solution for all might not be the same so try below methods too.

METHOD 2: USE WIFI TO DOWNLOAD.

Many a times your Internet Service Provider(ISP) Creates this Problem of Error 498 and many other Errors. so Try and get access to Wifi somehow and try to download the app thats giving you the Error.

METHOD 3: ADDING NEW PLAY STORE ACCOUNT.

You will need to Add a new Play store account inorder to fix this Error. Go to Settings > Accounts > Add New Account > Click on Google > Next > Enter email > Done.

After setting up new Play store account try to download the same app and see if this have Solved your Problem.

METHOD 4: CONNECTING WITH COMPUTER:

One of my Friend reported that he fixed Error 498 by installing apps from Computer to Smartphone. You just need to connect your Smartphone to Computer Using USB Cable. then goto Google Play Store using your Favourite Browser on your Computer. Then Search for the App which was getting error on your Smartphone.

Click on the Preferred Result that you get, next On the App page you will see Install button. Click it to Download that app On your Smartphone. No it will not Install on your Computer. it will Install on your Smartphone. Just make sure your Smartphone is Connected or else you will not See Install Button.

METHOD 5: UNINSTALL & REINSTALL GOOGLE PLAY STORE:

If your Phone is Rooted then You might just want to Uninstall and Then Reinstall Google Play store so that to make sure that you actually get rid of Error 498 in Google Play Store. If any of the above Listed methods don’t work for you then go for this one and you will fix it for sure.

Cara Mudah Mengatasi Touchscreen Error di Android

1. Atur Calibration dan Cek Sensitivitasnya

Terkadang Touchscreen smartphone masih dapat digunakan tetapi sangat lambat dan sangat sensitif. Cara yang tepat mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan mengatur kalibrasinya yaitu dengan membuka menunyadi Setting > Display > Calibration. Anda jangan panik, nantinya layar akan Blank Putih , selanjutnya anda Klik layar untuk Kalibrasi dan ikuti petunjuk yang diminta sampai kalibrasi tersebut selesai. Cek juga sensitivitasnya dengan membuka menu dengan kode *#*#2664#*#*. Dengan begitu anda akan mengetahui Sensitivitas dari Touchscreen anda.

2. Lakukan Restart

Jika cara pertama gagal, cara kedua adalah dengan melakukan Restrart. Dengan melakukan Restart membuat layar sentuh menjadi kembali bekerja secara optimal. Saya rekomendasikan untuk merestart android anda dengan secara manual atau tidak menggunakan mode Hidupkan kembali. Saran saya yaitu dengan cara mematikan android sobat selama 10 menit, lalu hidupkan kembali. 10 Menit tersebut berguna untuk merefresh atau menyegarkan komponen smartphone anda dan agar komponen tersebut dapat menyesuaikan diri.

3. Factory Reset

Cara ini memang cara terakhir yang dapat mengembalikan lagi Touchscreen anda kesemula. Jika Restrart tidak juga mampan, lakukanlah jalan terakhir ini yaitu Factory reset, atau reset pabrik. Dengan begini android anda akan kembali ke pengaturan semula sama seperti baru dibeli. Dengan begitu semua data yang anda download akan hilang, Tetapi tidak pada memory eksternal. Jadi pikir dahulu sebelum melakukan factory reset. Dan jika anda ingin melakukan faktory reset, backup dulu semua aplikasi anda.

Ketiga cara diatas memang kurang ampuh, apalagi untuk kerusakan yang sangat parah, seperti keretakan yang parah, kerusakan akut pada LCD dan lain sebagainya. Untuk yang sudah mengalami kerusakan parah tersebut, silahkan pergi ke service android, dan anda harus mengeluarkan duit.

Salah satu perbedaannya yaitu, konten yang ada pada App Store disediakan langsung oleh Apple, sedangkan konten pada Cydia asalnya dari repositori yang dibuat sendiri oleh pembuat aplikasi/tweak. Karena sifatnya ini, isi atau konten pada Cydia bisa ditambah atau dikurangi oleh pengguna sesukanya dengan repositori.

Cydia memiliki beberapa error yang dapat diatasi, tapi sebelum saya memberitahu, sobat harus menyiapkan aplikasi ini untuk berjaga-jaga.

Pastikan Instal terlebih dahulu :

1. iFile
2. Terminal Mobile
3. openSSH
4. openSSL
5. AppSync for ios XXXXX ( ios 2.0 sampai dengan ios 6 )
6. AppSync Unifiled ( ios 7 keatas )
7. Afc2add ( ios 7 )
8. applefile conduit2 ( ios 8 ke atas)

Permasalah serta Solusi yang User/Pengguna Jailbroken hadapi di Cydia : 

 

1. Contoh Error Cydia :

Wow, you exceeded the number of package names this APT is capable of.

Problem with MergeList [file]

The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened

 

Solusi :

Jangan menggunakan/menambahkan terlalu banyak Source Repo.
Source Tetap bawaan awal Cydia adalah >>> apt.cydia - Bigboss - ModMyi - ZodTTD/MacCiti
Jika mau menambahkan Source Repo cukup 3 (Tiga) atau 4 (Empat) agar tidak mengalami Error Cydia.

 

2. Contoh Error Cydia :

Error Couldn’t configure pre-depend dpkg for ncurses, probably a dependency cycle

 

Solusi :

Silahkan Update/Updrage Cydia Installer ke Versi Terbaru

 

3. Contoh Error Cydia :

POSIX error: Operation Timed Out.POSIX:

Socket is not connected.NetDB:

Open nodename nor servname provided, or not known.

 

Solusi :

Cek koneksi internet dan pastikan stabil bagus lalu masuk kembali ke Cydia - Change - Refersh.
Cek Source Repo dan pastikan semua Package berjalan normal dalam artian tidak ada List/Daftar yang kosong.

 

4. Contoh Error Cydia :

Failed to fetch http://XXX.XXX.comXX/Packages.gz

HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

 

Solusi :

Tunggu sekitar 1 atau 2 Jam sampai Saource Repo yang ada di Cydia normal kembali dikarenakan Down Source.
Jika sudah silahkan masuk Cydia - Change - Refersh.... tetapi jika masih mengalami error yang sama maka silahkan Delete/Remove Source tersebut lalu coba add lagi dan jika masih menemukan error yang sama maka jangan pergunakan Source Repo tersebut

 

5. Contoh Error Cydia :

cannot locate package

 

Solusi :

Keluar dari Cydia dan Kill Aplikasi di Background/Multitasking/Switcher lalu masuk kembali ke Cydia - Change - Refersh dan tunggu loading done.

 

6. Contoh Error Cydia :

untrusted server certificate 

atau 

an SSL error has occurred

 

Solusi :

Reboot device dan cek koneksi internet sebelum masuk ke cydia lalu refresh.

7. Contoh Error Cydia :

GPG error

 

Solusi :

Cek alamat Source Repo yang anda Add/tambahkan di Cydia dan pastikan benar atau boleh diabaikan kemungkinan Source Down.

 

8. Contoh Error Cydia :

Sub-process / usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (XXX)

Solusi : 

Buka iFile
1. Pergi ke direktori: /var/lib/dpkg/
2. Rubah dan namakan
"available" menjadi "available-bak"
"status" menjadi "status-bak"
"available-old" menjadi "available"
"status-old" menjadi "status"

3. Kill Cydia pada multitasking/app switcher dan masuk kembali lalu Refresh Cydia.
4. Biarkan dan tunggu Cydia loading sampai habis - Done

 

9. Contoh Error Cydia :

4.3.1 HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Errors in Cydia

Solusi : 

1. Jangan mendelete/Hapus apapun Source Repo bawaan Awal Cydia.
2. Jangan mendelete/Hapus Source Repo jika App/Tweaks terinstal di Device karena bisa mengakibatkan error Crashing.

Note: After altering the shared link and you trying demo that link is working or not so dont try on same web browser there you are logged in it will show that the link is working and you are getting to the download page but if you you open the link on an other web browser there you are not logged in the link wont it will get you to the "Not Found 404" page it happened to me that is why i know about it. So before sharing link try demo on another web browser there you are not logged in with same Google id.


I also have solved my problem with Winrar (Try This First)

1. Create archive of file with Winrar that you want to upload it will work 100%


1. You are getting this page instead of download page this is not your mistake so dont worry go a head

2. So throwing this problem away Right click on file that you want to make downloadable and make of copy of this file

 3. After copied this file just apply above mentioned points 1 through 6  it will become downloadable
